The AVZM is a modular unit incorporating upto five isolation valve boxes plus an Area Medical Gas Alarm Panel. As standard each valve isolation box has facilities that allow gas sampling, purging, emergency supply connection and testing. The "see through" glass panels on each valve isolation box are designed to give an immediate visual indication of the gas type and valve position. The glass has been specially manufactured to allow emergency access without having to unlock the front cover. Each valve isolation box is equipped with a purpose manufactured "blank off" plate to allow for isolation of service during maintenance or system alterations which can be fitted to either side of the valve.

To provide:-
a means of controlling the medical gas and vacuum systems at the point of entry in the wards and other specified locations.

The MIM-Meditech™ AVZM also provides for local gas sampling, purging, testing and the connection of an emergency supply incorporated as standard in each valve isolation box.

SPECIFIC FEATURES:

3. The MIM-Meditech™ AVZM is delivered to site as a complete module, factory pre-wired, pre-piped, tested and certified to enable a fast, cost effective and efficient installation.

4. Pressure switches and alarm modules are factory pre-installed behind an easily removable panel accessed from the front of the module.

DESIGN STANDARDS

The MIM-Meditech™ AVZM is designed to comply with the following standards:

• United Kingdom Health technical Memorandum HTM2022
• British Standard BS5682: 1984

Purpose manufactured sheet steel three part panel (base unit, removable front cover and Pressure switch / electrical connection inspection plate) incorporating:

Medical Gas Area Alarm Panel connected to factory installed Pressure switches.

Mains input Fused Spur unit.

Line ball valve isolators with large coloured operating handles.

Back plate with large easily read letters to indicate open or closed position of valve which can be seen without opening the front cover.

On both sides of the control valve are installed Non-interchangeable Screw Thread connectors (NIST) with sealing caps (secured by chains to avoid accidental loss). Each NIST incorporates a non-return valve to prevent leakage when the sealing cap is removed.

Access to each Line Isolator valve via a lockable and non-interchangeable hinged front cover with an engraved GAS identification label riveted to the front. The front cover has a see through glass panel which can be broken to give rapid access to the valve control without using the key in the event of an emergency.

All of the above are factory installed, tested and certified. Pipe sizes of 22mm and 28mm are available as standard with entry from the bottom or top of the panel.
