Solid state indicators and control systems providing reliability and integrity resulting in a virtually maintenance free system.

High technology wipe sterilizable membrane fascia panels manufactured from polycarbonate plastic sealed to the high impact plastic front plates to provide a moisture and wear resistant surface with reverse printed legends that will remain legible throughout the life of the system.

Advanced engineering applied electronics technology and ergonomic design have been combined to make a system that blends in with the modern decor of todays hospitals, yet remains functionally efficient.

How Meditech™ 400 Works

Meditech 400 is a hard wired system which uses individual wires to communicate between each communication point and the nurse station.

Each nurse station contains a dedicated circuit for each communications point which accepts signals and displays them on the nurse station by illuminating the LED indicator corresponding to the calling room or ward.

The Nurse must attend to the Patient Room or Clinical room in order to cancel the call.

PATIENT TO NURSE-
the patient station 401 has a "DIN" socket for connection of the 619 patient remote Call Push which contains a Nurse-call push button and LED reassurance indicator.

To contact the nurse the patient has to press the call push button, the electronic controls in the system automatically accepts the call and the following events take place:-

  • The red LED in the 409 overdoor indicator illuminates continuously.
  • The LED reassurance indicator in the 619 remote patient call push illuminates continuously
  • The LED call reassurance indicator on the 401 patient station illuminates continuously.
  • The LED in the nurse station illuminates continuously.
  • An intermittent tone is emitted from the nurse station and the 408 lamp tone unit.
When the nurse attends to the calling patient, the operation of the reset switch in the calling patient's room, cancels the call to the nurse station and switches off all of the red indicators.

Emergency/Code Blue/Cardiac Calls

Emergency/code blue/cardiac calls are activated by the red emergency call/pull on/push off switch which sets in motion the following events:-

  • The red LED in the call panel flashes on and off.
  • The red LED in the 409 overdoor indicator flashes on and off.
  • The LED in the corresponding room indicator at the nurse station flashes on and off.
  • An urgent tone is emitted from the nurse station and 408 lamp tone unit. Cancellation of an emergency call can only be made at the patient/staff station that initiated the call.
